Cot Panglima is the most challenging route between the towns of Bireuen and Bener Meriah in Aceh. It consists of 5 kilometers of bumpy, winding, and elevated roads that soil heavily in dry season, crossing through the hills of Cot Panglima which separate the two towns. In the older days, until 2011, when we traveled the route of Banda Aceh - Takengon/Bener Meriah, we needed to be there on-time between 12 - 4 p.m., as it was the only window time where travelers could pass. |
